Step 6: You should now see this option. Once you click it, it will open the update centre.
Step 7: Now click the “Check for updates” button and let it install any updates it needs to. (Please note that some of the updates may require a restart. [follow steps 1 - 3])

First steps to IT resolution (Hardware)
Step 1: If you are having issues with your physical computer (e.g. freezing/locking up!). First make sure you restart it via steps 1 – 3 listed in the previous software self-help guide. However, if you are unable to do this, follow the steps below:
Step 2: If your computer is not turning on, please ensure that it is plugged into a charger OR dock. (Consult IT for the correct charger for your laptop!)
Step 3: If your computer is plugged in via its correct charger OR dock and does not turn on when you press the power button (shown in step 4). Unplug the charger/dock from the laptop.
Step 4: We will now need to power cycle the battery to remove any residual electrical charge. To do this, hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then plug the charging cable back into the laptop and press the power button once.
Step 5: The laptop should now boot back up. If this was not the case, please contact the IT department straight away!
